A profile of moonsafari.eth conducted over twitter DM’s, Discord and shared Google Docs. (yeah, we need a better workflow)
Doxxed or anon?
Semi-doxxed but I’m not afraid to be fully doxxed.
What’s the story behind your favourite NFT?
I minted A Non-Fungible Fungi Magic 1/1 and was so excited I was running around my apartment screaming and annoying my downstairs neighbors, likely to the brink of them calling the police on me.
How did you get into the NFT space? What was your journey?
Not really a journey, just a natural progression from loving art and loving what crypto means to the wider world. I think many share this experience.
How much time do you spend in web3? Do you have a day job?
I can give a little background. I worked in the film industry as a studio lighting technician for 15 years. I worked under many ASC and Oscar winning directors of photography so I discovered my love of picture making and art in general through that route. It was a great lifetime experience but, in the end, the gruelling labor practices of that industry drove me back to my first love as a child, coin collecting. I’m now the senior numismatist at the largest coin company in Las Vegas, Nevada Coin & Jewellery and have been doing this work for the last 10 years.
I’ve been into crypto since 2015 and started my NFT collection in 2021. I made it to the space before Bored Apes minted but, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to catch that wave. My biggest play so far is ENS domain names, in which I’ve done very well. I’ve bought and sold many great names and I currently own close to 300 including 7 pre-punk 1k names and close to 80 pre-punk names, many of which are valued brands in the music industry.
How did you come into Rug Radio and what interests you most?
I found Rug Radio just before the Genesis Rugs minted and was drawn by the idea of decentralizing media and putting ownership back in the hands of the content creators and users. I’m excited to see what we all can create together over the next many years.
What’s the play? Member pass, Genesis and which one, $RUG or $RDAO?
I own several of both. Obviously the value is in the Genesis Rugs and the token creation those NFTs offer but I can see a growing demand for Membership Passes down the road as the platform becomes more viable, stable, and used.
What would you like to see most as Rug Radio evolves?
I would like for the DAO to become more mature and the $RUG token to have more robust utility.
Are you planning to lurk only, or do you have an interest in building within RR?
I think you know the answer to that. I am very active with the community and hope to host my own show soon.
What tools do you use to find, trade and buy NFTs?
Everything possible.
What project other than RR currently inspires you most?
I am a heavy believer in decentralised organisations that create value for the holders and the users. I really like the LooksRare platform as an alternative to OpenSea and I hold and stake many of their tokens.

Have you connected with anyone over web3? Who inspires you most?
I really don’t get starstruck. I suppose anyone who works hard and builds in this space we all love so dearly is okay in my book.
Any other thoughts?
Just happy to be on the forefront of web3 technology and the digital art renaissance in any way possible.
